Coleen & Stig’s Effortless Glasgow Wedding at Holy Cross Church and Pollokshields Burgh Hall

When it comes to combining tradition with atmosphere, Holy Cross Church and Pollokshields Burgh Hall make a pretty perfect pair. Set in Glasgow’s Southside, these two spaces offer something rare: ceremony with presence and celebration with warmth.

Coleen and Stig chose Holy Cross Church for their wedding ceremony, a calm, light-filled parish where generations of their family had gathered before them. It gave the day a sense of meaning that ran deeper than just detail.

For the reception, they moved to Pollokshields Burgh Hall, a characterful venue sitting right next to Maxwell Park. With its vaulted ceilings, rich wood panelling and grand stained glass windows, it’s a space that feels quietly grand without being showy. It gave them room to celebrate with everyone they love, in a way that felt completely true to them.

The right ones, at the right time.

Holy Cross Catholic Church wedding venue, Glasgow

Coleen and Stig chose a venue to feel truly at home. Holy Cross Church has a weight to it: quiet, familiar and deeply tied to family. It’s the kind of place where generations have come and gone, where the pews still carry the shape of people who’ve sat through services, weddings and christenings. It meant something. And that mattered more than anything else.

It's a place they could stand, side by side and say what they needed, with only looks and touch.

Pollokshields Burgh Hall made perfect sense. Right on the edge of Maxwell Park, it’s a building that looms quietly. The light’s good, exquisite actually. The space holds a nostalgic charm and it doesn’t take much to make it feel like your special place.

There’s something about that corner of the Southside - green, unbothered by trends - that fit exactly with the kind of day Coleen and Stig had in mind.

A wedding day filled with real people - their closet friends and family; and real joy - a deep love for one another and true commitment.

Capturing what matters

Weddings like Coleen and Stig’s stay with me. Two people fully themselves, surrounded by everyone who gets it.

I watch people.

The way they move around each other. How they lean in without thinking. The glances, the pauses, the shift in tone when it’s someone they love. That’s what I capture.
